Viola Davis Debuts Courtroom Thriller Novel

Viola Davis, the acclaimed Oscar-winning actor, is expanding her creative horizons as a novelist. She has co-authored a courtroom thriller titled "Judge Stone" with bestselling author James Patterson. The book is scheduled to be released on March 9.

"Judge Stone" tells the story of Judge Mary Stone, a respected circuit judge in Union Springs, Alabama. The narrative focuses on a challenging legal battle involving controversial abortion laws and a doctor accused of performing a procedure on a young girl. The judge must balance justice, community demands, and her own political future.

This novel marks Davis's first extensive work in adult fiction. Previously, she released her memoir, "Finding Me," in 2022, for which she won a Grammy in 2023 for her audiobook narration. Davis has expressed that all stories hold significance and are worthy of being told.

Despite her literary pursuits, Davis remains active in her acting career. She recently starred in the Amazon Prime Video thriller "G20" and is slated to appear in the adaptation of "Children of Blood and Bone," due in January 2027.
