The divorce case involving actor Vijay and his wife Sankgeetha has been rescheduled to June 15 by the Chengalpattu Family Court. Vijay's legal representatives successfully requested permission for him to attend the upcoming hearing remotely via video conference, a request that Sankgeetha's side did not oppose.
Sankgeetha herself will also participate through video conferencing on the June 15 date. The proceedings were originally slated for an earlier hearing on April 20, having been postponed from the initial court date of February 26, which followed Sankgeetha's divorce filing.
Sankgeetha initiated divorce proceedings in December 2025, citing allegations of an extramarital affair and persistent mental cruelty, neglect, and desertion by Vijay. She has also sought residence in their matrimonial home and permanent alimony.
Vijay and Sankgeetha, who had an interfaith marriage in Chennai on August 25, 1999, are parents to two children: Jason Sanjay, born in 2000, and Divya Saasha, born in 2005.
