Stars' legal fight against fake content begins

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have officially approached the Hyderabad Cyber Crime police, submitting a formal complaint against the proliferation of fake and misleading content concerning them on social media platforms. Their team alleges that certain posts have escalated beyond criticism, constituting the deliberate dissemination of false information.

The complaint, filed in person by a representative, details various forms of online misconduct including fabricated claims, manipulated screenshots, impersonation, and targeted harassment. Supporting evidence, such as links to the content, has been provided to authorities for examination. This action follows intense online discussion after the couple's recent appearance on a talk show.

While respecting freedom of speech, the team stressed the boundary between opinion and fabricated facts. They have requested an investigation into whether the content is part of a coordinated or paid campaign, assuring that each instance of allegedly unlawful content will be scrutinized for potential legal action. The objective is to counter fabricated material, not to stifle criticism.

Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna addressed backlash over an interview, referring to critics as an "angry mob" and defending their relationship. She expressed her deep affection for Vijay, highlighting his support during difficult times and criticizing online bullying disguised as feminism. Vijay Deverakonda subsequently shared a social media post affirming their happiness and love for each other, addressing doubts about their relationship.
