As of October 23rd, 2025, the release of the much-anticipated mythological film 'Mahavatar' has been delayed by a year. The film, which was initially slated to hit theaters in Christmas 2026, is now expected to release in 2027.
According to director Amar Kaushik, the delay is due to the extensive preparation required for a project of this magnitude. While the scripting is complete, Kaushik stated that they still need more time to ensure everything is perfect.
Lead actor Vicky Kaushal, who is currently busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love and War', is expected to join the film's prep work once he wraps up his current commitments. Kaushik expressed hope that they will be able to go on floors by mid-next year.
