In a major development, Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal and director Amar Kaushik have decided to quit non-vegetarian food and alcohol as they gear up for their upcoming epic 'Mahavatar'. The film, which is based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, is being produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and is expected to release in 2028.
According to the report, the writing work for 'Mahavatar' is currently in full swing, and the makers are planning to mount the film on an unimaginable scale. Vicky Kaushal, who is collaborating with Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik after the success of 'Chavva', will be essaying the role of Lord Parashurama in the film.
To ensure complete focus and dedication towards the project, both Vicky and Amar have decided to make significant lifestyle changes. They will be giving up non-vegetarian food and alcohol as a part of their spiritual preparation for the film. Amar Kaushik has already started following this regimen, while Vicky plans to do so once he wraps up his current project, 'Love And War'.
The team is currently working on the pre-visualization of 'Mahavatar', which is expected to go on floors towards the end of 2026 and release in 2028. The film will require a year of production and an additional 6 months of post-production due to the extensive VFX work involved in building the world of Lord Parashurama.
