VHS Time Capsule: A Nostalgic Journey

A unique exhibition space dedicated to VHS tapes is being established, offering a glimpse into a bygone era. This initiative is not a rental service but rather a 'time capsule' designed to evoke nostalgia for older generations and pique the curiosity of younger audiences. The growing interest in physical media, partly inspired by popular shows such as Stranger Things, highlights a fascination with a time before ubiquitous digital access.

Most of the tapes featured belong to one of the couple, who is passionate about physical media and has curated a collection primarily of science fiction titles. The tangible appeal of tape artwork and the stories behind them are emphasized as a richer experience than digital scrolling. The couple plans to expand this concept by hosting it at Triple A Records, a shop across the street. This new location will feature comfortable seating for visitors to watch tapes, either their own or from the collection, with aspirations for specialized theme nights.

This venture has also garnered attention beyond the shop, with an invitation to the island's Fantasy, Trade, and Comic convention. There, they will have a stall to expose children to items and experiences previously unseen, particularly from a science fiction perspective. The goal is to make the experience as immersive as possible, celebrating physical media in an increasingly digital world.
