Veteran Producer Anjay Nagpal Tapped as New IFFLA Executive Director

In a significant move, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) has appointed acclaimed producer Anjay Nagpal as its new executive director. Nagpal, whose producing credits include Dev Patel's directorial debut "Monkey Man," Todd Phillips' "Joker," and Jay Roach's "Bombshell," brings a wealth of experience in financing, production, and global distribution to the festival.
As a studio executive, Nagpal has worked on films such as "Greyhound," "The Green Knight," and "The Survivor." He has been a dedicated advocate for South Asian storytelling, producing "Monkey Man" and developing projects based on works by authors like Abraham Verghese and Aravind Adiga.
IFFLA founder and board chair Christina Marouda expressed excitement about Nagpal's appointment, stating that his "hands-on experience and understanding of how the film world functions, his respect of IFFLA's legacy, along with his thoughtful approach in all his endeavors makes him a thrilling leader for our organization."

Nagpal, who has a long-standing relationship with IFFLA, said he is "honored to work with [Marouda] and the rest of the IFFLA staff and supporters to take IFFLA to new heights." The 24th edition of the IFFLA festival is scheduled for April 23-26, 2026, with the call for entries for the IFFLA 2026 Shorts Competition opening on October 22, 2025.
