Veteran Band Shudder to Think Releases First New Music in Decades

In a surprising comeback, veteran Washington, D.C. post-hardcore quintet Shudder to Think has released their first new music in nearly 30 years. The band has shared two new songs, "Thirst Walk" and "Playback," which will be available on a vinyl 7" single through Dischord Records.
According to lead vocalist Craig Wedren, these new tracks are just the beginning of a "trove of new songs" the band is working on together. The group has been recording the new material at Wedren's backyard studio, Pink Ape Studios in Los Angeles, with some remote overdubbing from their home studios. Wedren describes the new songs as feeling "very much like Shudder to Think," with a focus on keeping things "playful and raw-ish."
Shudder to Think's most recent album, 50,000 B.C., was released in 1997. Since then, the band has composed original scores for several films, including High Art, First Love, Last Rites, and Velvet Goldmine, as well as releasing a live album.
