On November 16th, 2025, the Houston radio community was shaken by the sudden departure of veteran host Ryan Chase from the morning show at 104.2 KRBE. Chase, who had been a fixture on the station for nearly 20 years, abruptly ended his 23-year partnership with co-host Roula Christie.
During the November 16th broadcast, Christie and co-host Eric Rowe addressed Chase's exit, expressing their surprise and sadness. "We're gonna miss a lot of things. Nobody plans for this. We just signed a five-year deal. I know you want us to tell you things, but we cannot," Christie said, while Rowe added, "I'm in shock. I'm bummed."
Chase's radio career began at K-FOX 95.5 in Lufkin while he was a student at Stephen F. Austin State University. He later worked at KHMX (Mix 96.5) and KRBE in Houston, before moving to WXRK (92.3 K-Rock) in New York during Howard Stern's tenure. In 1998, he returned to Texas, co-hosting the popular "Jagger, Ryan and Michelle" show on 94.5 The Edge in Dallas-Fort Worth.
