In a significant industry move, Danielle Gasher, the former head of acquisitions and international sales at Gravitas Ventures and vice president of international sales at Voltage Pictures, has launched a new sales and production company called Vaneast. Based in Los Angeles, Gasher is attending the company's first American Film Market with an exciting slate of projects.
Vaneast's plans include acquiring 10 third-party titles per year and producing an additional 3-5 in-house projects. To lead the production arm, Gasher has newly partnered with John Ierardi and Bo Youngblood of Showdown Productions, who will oversee Vaneast's in-house development and physical production.
One of Vaneast's first in-house productions is the action-comedy 'Hellhound,' starring Marisa Tomei, Chris Messina, and Sam Rockwell. The film, which Vaneast has taken over from a previous producer, is set to begin shooting in the first quarter of the year. Gasher says the company has already secured early international buyers for 'Hellhound,' including Front Row (MENA), NOS Lusomundo (Portugal), and Paradise (CIS).
Vaneast's sales lineup also includes the comedy 'Jacob Beats Up Nate,' starring Lamorne Morris, Justin Long, and Naturi Naughton, as well as the Toronto Film Festival selection 'Little Lorraine,' featuring Stephen Amell and J Balvin.
