Veteran Director's New Film 'Maarutha' Tackles Online Exploitation

Veteran Kannada filmmaker S Narayan is set to release his latest social drama, 'Maarutha', on November 21, 2025. The film focuses on the growing dangers and challenges of the digital world, particularly the risks faced by women and families.

Known for his stories that mirror social realities, Narayan believes 'Maarutha' will strike a chord with today's digital generation. The film's story centers on a police officer, played by Vijay Kumar, who investigates secret online networks while trying to protect victims from scams and exploitation. It features a talented cast including Brinda Acharya, Shreyas Manju, Nishvika Naidu, and Sharath Lohithaswa.

Narayan, who has been inspired by the misuse of social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, hopes the film will encourage meaningful discussions within families about the importance of digital safety. "Even celebrity families are not spared. Remember the recent case involving Akshay Kumar's daughter? It is frightening. We need to talk about it openly," he said, emphasizing the widespread nature of online threats.

'Maarutha' aims to deliver a strong message through entertainment. "It is about awareness, responsibility, and protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
