The report of King's impending departure comes as CBS News undergoes a significant overhaul following Paramount's acquisition of the network. Earlier this month, Bari Weiss was hired as the new editor-in-chief, and big changes are expected for the CBS Evening News, with co-anchor John Dickerson announcing his departure from the network by the end of this year. Additionally, the network recently went through a round of layoffs that impacted nearly 100 staffers.
