Veteran actor Theo Rossi, 50, is excited to make his directorial debut with the upcoming heist movie 'Shell Game'. The film, which is scheduled to begin principal photography this fall in Texas and New Mexico, follows a crew of thieves who reunite after years apart to take on a high-stakes heist, all while facing old grudges and new enemies.
Rossi, who has produced his last six films, reveals that directing has always been a goal of his. "I've been doing this for a long time now, and directing was always kind of where I wanted to end up, so I guess, in some weird way, I'm almost there," he tells PEOPLE. The script for 'Shell Game' was inspired by the 1995 thriller 'Heat', which Rossi considers one of his all-time favorite movies.
"I just love exploring the underworld," Rossi explains. "It's something I grew up in and I like... Because when you're doing a heist in that high-tension situation, relationships are really tested." Rossi is producing the film alongside Chris Dent, Nicholas Carmona, James Crewe, and Tommy DeNucci.
