Veteran Actor Dharmendra Hospitalized, Fans Pray for Recovery

As of November 11th, 2025, veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra is currently hospitalized and under medical supervision. The 89-year-old actor was facing breathlessness and was soon admitted to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai, where he was reportedly placed on ventilator support.

Dharmendra and his longtime co-star and wife, Hema Malini, have long been an iconic on-screen pair, and their off-screen love story is one of the most talked-about in the industry. The two married in 1980, despite Dharmendra already being married to Prakash Kaur and having four children. Hema Malini chose to live separately from Dharmendra, a decision she has spoken about in her biography, saying, "I didn't want to disturb anyone. I am happy with whatever Dharamji did for me and my daughters."

Hema Malini has also addressed the criticism she faced for being the "other woman," saying, "Fingers were pointed. Accusations were flung at us. I knew people discussed me behind my back. I just knew that he made me happy. And all I wanted was happiness." Despite the unconventional nature of their marriage, Hema Malini has maintained a measured perspective, stating, "I am not a police officer who needs to keep tabs on him. I don't need to show people a roll-call register of how many days he visits me."
