The film Accept Our Sincere Apologies, world premiering at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on January 31, 2026, explores themes of loneliness and identity loss.
Set within a Venice hotel, the narrative centers on general manager Eva, who becomes entangled with a mysterious figure known as the Contessa. What was once a sanctuary evolves into a prison for both women, reflecting a broader sense of displacement from humanity.
Director Juja Dobrachkous, known for her work in black and white, intentionally cast non-professional actors, including twins Oskar and Kacper Grzelak, to achieve a raw and authentic performance.
The film's visual style, shot entirely in black and white, contributes to its hypnotic and unsettling gothic fantasy atmosphere, designed to evoke a visceral experience for the audience.
Dobrachkous is also developing two future projects: one inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, and another about an Italian aristocrat, potentially starring Toni Servillo.
