The lineup includes Hungarian director Lili Horvát's sci-fi romance "My Notes on Mars" as the opening film.
Léa Domenach's "A Man's Skin," a musical comedy, will close the section. Other competition highlights include Kuba Dorabialski's "Agata the Writer" and Nathalia Acevedo's directorial debut "Salón de Belleza." Established director Robert Guédiguian also presents "A Woman Today."
This 23rd edition, running alongside the Venice Film Festival in September, is dedicated to the sidebar's founder, Giorgio Gosetti, who passed away in March. Artistic Director Gaia Furrer emphasized gratitude and the desire to honor Gosetti's legacy by continuing to discover and champion new cinematic voices.
