Varun Dhawan Invests in Nutrition Startup

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has made a significant investment in the nutrition sector by joining Better Nutrition, a brand specializing in making everyday food more nutritious. This collaboration, which follows the brand's appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4, also sees Dhawan appointed as its brand ambassador, alongside badminton champion PV Sindhu.

Dhawan's involvement stems from a personal passion for farming. After acquiring agricultural land, he developed a keen interest in soil health and food cultivation. This experience prompted him to explore the direct link between farming practices and the nutritional content of food.

In partnership with Better Nutrition, Dhawan is set to transform his own farm into a biofortified agricultural site. This endeavor will provide him with hands-on experience in improving crop nutrition while supporting the company's broader objective. Better Nutrition offers staples like flour, dal, and rice, fortified with higher levels of essential micronutrients, utilizing biofortified seeds, soil science, and advanced XRF technology for quality assurance.

"We're working together to make my farm biofortified," Dhawan stated, emphasizing the personal nature of this venture. "Better Nutrition is my brand now too. I really like the mission behind it, and I want to be part of that journey."

Better Nutrition's co-founder and CEO, Prateek Rastogi, highlighted the brand's core belief: starting with everyday food to make nutrition more accessible. "If the food Indians eat every day can be more nutritious, that is where we should start," Rastogi explained. He added that Dhawan's decision to invest and biofortify his farm demonstrates a deep connection to this mission.
