SS Rajamouli is set to elevate cinematic world-building with his next directorial venture, Varanasi. The film, featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, will showcase an entirely new fictional language, meticulously developed for its narrative. This initiative surpasses the creation of the Kilikili language for Baahubali in 2015.
A dedicated language expert has been engaged to construct not only a lexicon but also a comprehensive language with its own script and grammatical structure. This invented tongue is integral to the plot, particularly in a sequence where characters must decipher ancient writings to unravel a mystery.
The film, Varanasi, is anticipated to launch globally on April 7, 2027. Rajamouli's vision extends to a broad international release, with plans for distribution in approximately 50 languages across 120 countries. To ensure authenticity, he intends to audition around 1500 voice artists for dubbing, prioritizing genuine human emotion over artificial voices.
