Stars Only: Vanity Fair Oscar Party Gets Exclusive Makeover
11 Mar
Summary
- New editor implements major changes for the Oscar party.
- Party moves to LACMA and restricts guest list significantly.
- Media access outside the event is increased.

This year's Vanity Fair Oscar party is set for a significant overhaul, directed by Mark Guiducci, the new global editorial director. The exclusive gathering, renowned for its celebrity attendees, is moving from the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts to LACMA. This venue change has drawn comparisons to the Met Gala.
Guiducci is also tightening the guest list, focusing on movie stars, nominees, and winners while excluding outside media, representatives, and industry professionals. The aim is to create a more intimate environment for celebrities to relax, with reporters being barred from documenting the inside scene.
While media are not permitted inside, organizers are increasing opportunities for coverage on the red carpet, inviting more outlets than before. Plans to use the event to unveil the new David Geffen Galleries were postponed as the space was not ready, with a media preview rescheduled for April 19.
