Picasso Painting Mysteriously Reappears Weeks After Disappearance

In a surprising turn of events, a Pablo Picasso painting that went missing in Spain several weeks ago has been recovered at the very spot it was last seen. The 1919 gouache and pencil work titled "Still Life with Guitar," valued at €600,000, had been reported missing in early October while being transported from Madrid to Granada for a temporary exhibition.

The alarm was raised when the artwork was found missing after the crates were unpacked at the CajaGranada Foundation. Authorities were notified, and an investigation was launched. However, the mystery has now been solved, as the police recovered the painting earlier this week.

According to reports, the Picasso work had been left behind near the door of the building from where it was to be transported. A neighbor, thinking it was a forgotten package or delivery, had picked it up for safekeeping. It was only days later, when the neighbor realized the significance of the artwork, that she contacted the police.

The recovery of the missing Picasso is a relief, as several of the artist's works have been stolen over the years, including the 1938 "Portrait of Dora Maar" and a sketchbook worth over €8 million. The historical heritage brigade of the police is continuing its investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the painting's disappearance and reappearance.
