Valerie Bertinelli's Heartbreak: Fired Over Weight, Failed Marriages

Valerie Bertinelli, widely recognized for her role in "One Day at a Time," has publicly shared her experiences with life's adversities.

She recounted being devastated after a diet company fired her as a spokesperson around 2012, shortly after she had lost 50 pounds and achieved a size 4. Bertinelli explained that as her weight increased to a size 12, the company terminated her contract.

Bertinelli's personal life has also seen significant upheaval, including two marriages ending in divorce. Her first marriage was to guitarist Eddie Van Halen, with whom she had a son, Wolfgang. The couple divorced in 2007, and Van Halen passed away in 2020.

Her second marriage was to Tom Vitale, from whom she filed for divorce in 2021, citing irreconcilable differences. Bertinelli expressed a desire to remain happily divorced and potentially spend the rest of her life alone.

Professionally, Bertinelli's journey with the Food Network also faced challenges. She co-hosted "Kids' Baking Championship" but her contract was not renewed in January 2024 due to budget cuts, leading to her replacement on the show.

Beyond career and relationship struggles, Bertinelli has been open about her mental health, including anxiety and panic attacks, and her experiences with perimenopause and menopause, which she described as particularly challenging years.
