RuPaul's Drag Race Surprise: Utica Almost Joined AS11!

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 11 experienced a near cast change as season 13 contestant Utica was initially slated to compete. Utica, also a finalist on Project Runway season 21, confirmed to EW that she attempted to join the All Stars season.

However, filming conflicts with Project Runway ultimately made her participation impossible. Utica explained that All Stars filming immediately followed Project Runway filming and preceded its airing, leading her to withdraw. Despite the setback, she is enjoying watching the current season and supporting her fellow queens.

Utica previously placed sixth on her original Drag Race season and achieved significant success on Project Runway, showcasing her advanced sewing skills. In a 2025 interview, she expressed enthusiasm for potential future appearances on both Drag Race and Project Runway in judging or mentorship roles, advocating for greater inclusion and focus on designers.

This isn't the first instance of crossover between the two franchises. Earlier in 2026, it was reported that Project Runway season 16 alums Plane Jane and Q would be contestants on an upcoming season of Project Runway.
