Summary
- Policy aims to make UP a leading film production destination.
- Incentives include subsidies up to Rs 1 crore for shoots.
- Film City Noida is becoming a major integrated production hub.

The Uttar Pradesh Film Policy, first introduced in 2018 and enhanced in 2023, has successfully positioned the state as a premier destination for film production. This initiative aims to transform Uttar Pradesh into a hub for shooting, post-production, and infrastructure development.
The policy provides attractive incentives, such as subsidies up to Rs 1 crore for films shooting extensively within the state, and additional benefits for employing local talent. This has led to increased filming activities across major cities and boosted tourism by showcasing iconic locations.
A key achievement is the development of the International Film City in Noida, which is emerging as a large integrated production center with studios and training facilities. Since the policy's inception, UP has seen a rise in feature films, web series, and documentaries being produced.
Film Bandhu acts as a nodal agency, streamlining single-window clearances and subsidy applications. The policy has also spurred growth in regional cinema and created substantial local employment in allied industries. Around 500 films were shot in Uttar Pradesh by 2023, highlighting its growing significance.
