Uttar Pradesh's tourism and culture minister, Jaiveer Singh, recently reviewed progress on significant culture-led projects across various districts. The primary objective is to enrich the visitor experience and strengthen the connection between tourism and culture, ensuring history is experienced rather than just read.
The under-construction Glass Museum in Firozabad, a project valued at over Rs47 crore, has reached approximately 70% completion. This unique museum is set to be India's first dedicated to glass, charting its historical evolution. It will feature interactive elements like an AR-VR zone and live demonstrations.
Further developments include a Cultural Centre in Mainpuri, designed to highlight the district's rich history and art forms, and the Arya Gurukul Museum, which will use digital tools to present the Arya Samaj's legacy. Infrastructure upgrades are also planned for the Samor Baba Temple complex to accommodate more visitors.
