Night School Studios, with creative input from David Fincher and Zach Cregger, has released 'Unhinged,' a new horror game available on Netflix. Players embody Ava, who must survive a killer stalking her apartment building during a storm. Their real-life phones serve as interactive controllers for flashlights, communication, and decision-making. The game is designed for quick play, taking just over 30 minutes, but features approximately ten times the usual number of player deaths.

Developers intentionally designed short timers for critical decisions, encouraging player deaths that offer narrative insights through police commentary. While the game allows for numerous ways to die, the choices primarily influence interactions with supporting characters and Ava's immediate progression rather than leading to vastly different story outcomes. Ultimately, players can reach a single 'happy' ending where Ava survives the night, though a chilling post-credits message hints at lingering danger.
