Uncensored Parasakthi Streams After Censor Board Scrutiny

The film Parasakthi, featuring Sivakarthikeyan, Sreeleela, and Ravi Mohan, recently began streaming on ZEE5 Tamil in its uncensored form. This release follows a challenging path to cinemas, where the Censor Board mandated 25 modifications, including cuts and muting of phrases, before granting its release. The film, directed by Sudha Kongara, is set against the backdrop of 1960s Madras and explores the significant anti-Hindi agitations prevalent in Tamil Nadu during that era. Distributed by Red Giant Movies, Parasakthi was initially slated for a January 14 release.

The streaming platform ZEE5 Tamil announced the availability of the uncensored version starting February 12. This version includes dialogue muted in the theatrical release, such as a remark on the written form of the Hindi language. The film's narrative captures the charged sociopolitical atmosphere of the time, offering a historical perspective on regional identity and language politics.
