Uday Kiran's Sister Reveals Engagement Truth

More than 12 years after actor Uday Kiran's passing, his sister Sridevi has spoken about his engagement to Chiranjeevi's daughter, Sushmita Konidela. The engagement, which occurred in 2003 when Uday was a leading star, was called off shortly after. Contrary to speculation, Sridevi clarified that the decision was Uday's and Sushmita's mutual choice.

Sridevi explained that Uday and Sushmita realized they had significant compatibility issues and different personalities. This mutual understanding led them to end the engagement without any external pressure. She also dispelled rumors that Chiranjeevi was upset or responsible for the breakup.

Furthermore, Sridevi highlighted Chiranjeevi's supportive role, describing him as a mentor who assisted Uday during challenging times. She emphasized that Chiranjeevi wished Uday well and was not involved in his tragic death by suicide on January 5, 2014, in Hyderabad, which was attributed to depression and financial stress.
