U2 Announces Exclusive London Concert for BBC Music

U2 will perform an exclusive concert for BBC Music, set to broadcast in November. The Grammy Award-winning band recorded their performance at an indoor central London venue on Tuesday, November 3, for a select group of fans. This event will showcase songs from their extensive catalogue, alongside new tracks from their forthcoming studio album, Carnaval De Luz.

A limited number of tickets were made available through a BBC Audiences ballot, which closed on Thursday, October 29. The exact location of the central London performance was to be revealed to ticket holders on the day of the event.

The broadcast schedule includes a special night of programming dedicated to U2 on BBC Two in late November. Additionally, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds will air the concert on Monday, November 30, from 7-9 pm, as part of Jo Whiley's show, which will also feature a new interview with band members. Both programs will be accessible on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds post-broadcast.

Furthermore, U2 will participate in 'Tracks of My Years' on Vernon Kay's Radio 2 Show, selecting ten songs that have defined their lives and careers. This segment will be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer from Sunday, November 15, and broadcast during the week of November 16. It will also be featured on BBC Two on the same night as the main performance broadcast.

This U2 performance follows a summer of extensive live music coverage on the BBC, which included a variety of special programming, documentaries, and festival coverage featuring numerous artists.
