U2 Celebrates 50 Years: The Longest-Lasting Rock Band?

U2, the iconic Irish rock band, is celebrating a remarkable 50-year milestone. Formed in Dublin in September 1976, the same four members continue to play together, a rarity in the music world. Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr., and Adam Clayton recently commemorated their golden anniversary with intimate performances at Mount Temple Comprehensive School and a surprise show in Dublin's city center.

Adding to the celebrations, U2 is set to release their first full-length album of new material in nearly a decade. Titled 'Carnaval De Luz,' the album is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, following two EPs released earlier this year. This release continues the band's prolific output and enduring legacy in the rock genre.
