Tyra Banks Regrets Halloween Role

Tyra Banks has revealed she has no fond memories of starring in the 2002 horror film Halloween: Resurrection. In an interview published on October 2, 2026, Banks stated she does not look back on the experience "even a little bit." She explained that her agent at the time had pushed for her to take the role, hoping to launch her acting career by mirroring that of Josh Hartnett, who appeared in Halloween H20.

Banks, who played a producer documenting teens in Michael Myers's childhood home, recalled telling her agent that the role would not advance her desired acting career. Her character was killed by Myers, but the scene was ultimately omitted from the final cut. "Not only did it not do anything for me, they cut the damn death scene," Banks stated.

She humorously lamented being "promised the career of Josh Hartnett, of an actor, and promised an iconic death scene that will last forever, and neither of them happened." This led to her declaration of having "beef with Halloween 8!" Banks' earlier film credits include Higher Learning (1995) and Coyote Ugly (2000). She later found significant success creating and hosting America's Next Top Model from 2003 to 2018, and hosted The Tyra Banks Show, earning two Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as co-hosting Dancing With the Stars from 2020 to 2022.

Currently, Banks resides in Australia with her partner, Louis Bélanger-Martin. She shared on Today in 2025 that she is involved with her ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream, which has production facilities in Australia. Falling in love with the country during frequent visits for production, and noting Australia and New Zealand as major ice cream consumers alongside America, she decided to establish her family life there.
