TV Star Corden Ordered to Undo Front Garden Paving for Bin Storage
17 Nov
Summary
- James Corden ordered to remove paved area in front garden
- Neighbors and preservation groups criticized the "unsightly" changes
- Corden added new trees but council says they are too close together

As of November 17th, 2025, British TV personality James Corden is facing a planning dispute over changes he made to the front garden of his £11.5 million North London home. Corden, who purchased the property last year, had paved over part of the front garden to enable storage for his wheely bins.
However, this move has angered Corden's neighbors and local preservation groups, who have slammed the work as "unsightly" and "detrimental to the character and appearance" of the conservation area. They have also claimed the changes are contributing to reduced biodiversity and loss of green space, as a large planting bed was demolished.
In an attempt to compensate, Corden's team added four new trees to the front garden. But local residents have complained that the trees are planted too close together to thrive. Ultimately, Camden Council has sided with the complaints and ordered Corden to "completely remove the area of hard landscaping" and "make good any resulting damage" by January 6th, or face legal action.
This is not the first time Corden has faced issues with his neighbors. Earlier this year, he had also received noise complaints, with one neighbor claiming that the family's activities, including one of the children playing the drums, could often be heard even with the windows closed.
