In early November 2025, TV host Anstead, 46, shared with his Instagram followers that he has been dealing with a series of health challenges. Anstead revealed that three of his close friends had received "terrible diagnoses," which prompted him to take a closer look at his own health.
Shortly after, Anstead suffered a "freak footy accident" that left him with a detached pectoral muscle, torn rotator cuff, and torn labrum. Anstead has now undergone surgery and is forced to rest, which he admits he does not do well. However, he is taking this as a sign to prioritize his health, exploring diet, peptides, body scans, and vitamins to become "healthier and kinder" to his body.
Despite the setbacks, Anstead remains positive and is receiving support from his famous friends, including racing driver Chris Buncombe and singer Imelda May. Anstead also shared a shirtless photo in his underwear, joking that his friend Imelda May suggested he should try wearing "fishnets" to "up his game" during his recovery.
Anstead's health issues come just a few weeks after he reunited with his ex-wife, Christina Haack, at their son Hudson's parent-teacher conference. The two have worked to put aside their differences and be good co-parents for their 6-year-old son.
