Troy Baker Voices Mouse Detective in Noir Shooter

Troy Baker, known for his roles in 'The Last of Us' and 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,' is now voicing Jack Pepper in the newly launched game 'Mouse: P.I. for Hire.' Developed by PlaySide Studios and Fumi Games, the first-person shooter draws inspiration from classic 1930s cartoons and noir detective movies, presenting a distinct black-and-white aesthetic.

Baker was captivated by the game's animation style and the depth of character it promised. He actively collaborated with the developers to define Jack Pepper's persona, focusing on injecting humor and levity while maintaining a consistent, intent-driven tone. This collaborative process involved exploring how to make the character's internal narration feel live and integrated into the narrative.

The character of Jack Pepper is portrayed as someone who initially rejected opportunities to be a hero but ultimately found a compelling reason to embrace the role. Baker emphasizes the importance of portraying Jack as a real person with genuine experiences, a lesson learned from his work on previous projects. This focus ensures that the character's journey resonates authentically with players.
