Triveni Kala Sangam: Delhi's 75-Year Arts Haven

Triveni Kala Sangam, established in 1950, stands as a cultural cornerstone in Delhi, nurturing artists for over seven decades. Founded by Sundari K Shridharani and shaped by architect Joseph Allen Stein, the institution provides a continuous home for artistic expression.

Shridharani's vision, born from her own experiences as a dancer and refugee, aimed to create a sanctuary for the arts. The institution, which began in borrowed spaces, eventually found its home on Tansen Marg, with architecture that reflects its open and accessible philosophy.

Over the years, Triveni has witnessed and hosted significant moments in Indian art, showcasing masters and shaping emerging talents. Its galleries have exhibited renowned artists, and its performance spaces have been graced by legendary dancers and musicians.

Beyond its artistic endeavors, Triveni's canteen has been a social hub, feeding artists and their ideas. As it celebrates its legacy, the canteen will reintroduce a special heritage menu, offering a taste of its storied past.
