Tracy Morgan Recounts Fatal Crash Trauma

In a recent interview, Tracy Morgan shared harrowing details of the 2014 accident where a speeding Walmart truck collided with his limousine. The crash tragically resulted in the death of his friend, James McNair, and left Morgan with severe injuries. Morgan recounted being in a coma for 10 days, suffering a shattered femur, broken nose, brain injury, and broken ribs. His friend Ardie Fuqua was also critically injured, spending 20 days in a coma.

Investigations revealed the truck driver had exceeded legal on-road hours, working 13.5 hours. Morgan subsequently sued Walmart for negligence, reaching an undisclosed settlement in 2015. He noted that the financial settlement allowed him to surround himself with comedic talent who perform out of necessity and passion, rather than financial need.
