Michael Weatherly will reprise his iconic role as Anthony DiNozzo in NCIS Season 24, with production already commenced. The actor's return for a season-long arc follows the cancellation of the "NCIS: Tony & Ziva" spinoff, assuring fans the new appearances will not retcon previous events.
Details surrounding DiNozzo's storyline are scarce, leaving fans eager to understand his return to Washington D.C. and his role at HQ. One popular fan theory suggests DiNozzo might be considered to replace Director Vance, who passed away earlier in the year.
While DiNozzo was last seen thriving in a private security role, his potential return to NCIS could see him reclaiming his "Very Special Agent" status. Fans also hope his arc will provide updates on Ziva and their daughter Tali, though Cote de Pablo is not currently slated to appear.
