Toni Collette, an Oscar nominee, will portray Miss Marple in a new Audible Original adaptation of Agatha Christie's "The Murder at the Vicarage." This production is slated for a global release on August 13, 2026. The audio drama will feature Kit Harington as Reverend Leonard Clement, adding to its ensemble cast.

"The Murder at the Vicarage," originally published in 1930, introduces the amateur detective Miss Marple. This audio adaptation is part of Audible's ongoing collaboration with Agatha Christie Limited. The story unfolds in the seemingly idyllic village of St Mary Mead, where the murder of the disliked Colonel Protheroe creates a stir.

Reverend Leonard Clement discovers the body, leading to village gossip and suspicion falling on the Colonel's wife and her alleged lover. However, the quiet village of St Mary Mead holds many secrets, suggesting the killer could be among various villagers. Miss Marple's sharp intellect is key to unraveling the truth behind the polite society facade.

Written by Vicki Pepperdine, the adaptation includes an original score by Wasia Project and is produced by Hat Trick Productions for Audible. Aurelie de Troyer of Audible expressed excitement about Collette's performance, noting her capture of Miss Marple's intellect and understanding of human nature. James Prichard of Agatha Christie Limited also highlighted the energy Collette brings to the role.
