Sir Tom Jones is concluding his 14-year tenure on The Voice UK, marking his final season as a judge. His time on the show has been alongside significant health challenges, including two hip replacement surgeries in 2017 and 2022. To cope with the interim pain, Jones revealed his use of inversion therapy, a method where one hangs upside down, which he found beneficial for circulation and back issues.
Jones admitted to using a specialized frame to hang upside down, even keeping such equipment backstage to ease pressure on his joints. Prior to his second hip surgery, he described managing his performances by sitting down after a few songs to alleviate leg strain. He also previously shared insights into his weight loss achieved through a paleo diet, after gaining 30lb.
His departure from The Voice UK comes after he was reportedly informed of ITV's decision to "refresh" the show, leading to a reduced role he was not pleased with. While the 14th series is currently airing, the 15th is expected in 2027 with new judges and presenters. Jones expressed disappointment at being "fired" due to insurance costs and a desire for a new coaching lineup.
