Years before becoming a major Hollywood actor, Tom Holland began his career at age 12 on London's West End, starring in 'Billy Elliot: The Musical.' He recently revealed on a podcast that his biggest career regret is quitting dancing after the show concluded. Holland stated he misses the discipline and joy of dance classes, which he previously attended at Nifty Feet Dance School as a child.
However, Holland is now set to portray legendary dancer Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic. He recently participated in the first rehearsal for the film and found the experience incredibly rewarding, reigniting his passion for dance. Holland sees this as a prime example of how acting allows him to learn new skills from industry experts. He admitted initial nervousness about the Fred Astaire project due to its ambitious nature and potential risks, but that feeling dissipated after the rehearsal.
Beyond his dance return, Holland also reflected on his future as Spider-Man. Having played Peter Parker since 2016, he intends to help transition the superhero role to a new generation, whether it be Miles Morales or another character. He hopes to emulate Robert Downey Jr.'s mentorship in passing the torch, feeling content once he has helped set up the next chapter for the franchise.
