Tom Holland: SNL Hosting Fear Due to Dyslexia

Tom Holland has consistently refused offers to host Saturday Night Live, sharing his apprehensions in a recent interview. The actor, known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, admitted to being "petrified" at the prospect of hosting the iconic sketch comedy show. Holland elaborated that his dyslexia presents a significant challenge, particularly with the unpredictable nature of cue cards.

He explained that while he can read fine, the act of reading aloud can induce a mental block, causing him to freeze. Holland views the read-through as his worst day at work, necessitating extensive preparation to skim rather than read. He expressed gratitude for the repeated invitations but acknowledged his genuine fear regarding the cue card element.

Despite these reservations, Holland is slated to reprise his role as the web-slinger in the upcoming MCU film, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' This highly anticipated movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 31, 2026.
