Tom Holland Dares to Dance Like Astaire

Tom Holland is preparing to embody Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic, with a personal ambition to execute all dance numbers without the use of doubles. He recently began rehearsals, expressing a mix of exhilaration and apprehension about the monumental task ahead.

Holland's desire to perform these challenging routines himself is rooted in his extensive dance background. He previously starred as the titular character in the West End production of "Billy Elliot the Musical" and has leveraged his dance skills for demanding physical roles, including his portrayal of Spider-Man.

The film is being directed by Paul King, known for his work on the "Paddington" films and "Wonka." Lee Hall, who penned "Billy Elliot," has written the screenplay. Production is slated to commence following Holland's completion of his current promotional engagements.

Holland's schedule remains busy throughout July 2026, with "The Odyssey" having premiered on July 17 and his fourth "Spider-Man" film set for release on July 31.
