Actor Tom Hardy has disclosed the considerable physical impact that years of starring in action-packed movies have had on his body. At 48, the star of "Mad Max: Fury Road" and the "Venom" franchise has undergone two knee surgeries and is dealing with a herniated disc in his back, sciatica, and a pulled hip tendon. He shared with Esquire that his body is currently "falling to bits" and not expected to improve.

Hardy, who has a history of dramatic physical transformations for roles like Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Bronson," has expressed concerns about the cumulative damage. He noted in a 2017 interview that rapid physical changes were manageable when he was younger, but now in his 40s, he must be more mindful of intense training schedules, especially when balancing them with filming.

Despite these challenges, Hardy continues to take on demanding roles, with recent appearances in "Havoc" and the series "MobLand." He previously shared that fatherhood has given him a greater sense of purpose, prompting more careful consideration of his life and well-being, though his dedication to his craft clearly comes with significant physical costs.
