Tom Hanks recently brought his signature down-to-earth persona to Sydney while filming Greyhound 2, a sequel to the 2022 World War II drama. The acclaimed actor, 69, was spotted engaging with curious bystanders outside the film set located at the Prince Henry Hospital Nursing and Medical Museum in Little Bay. Dressed in costume for his role, including a white shirt and bathrobe, Hanks took time to chat with locals.
The film, Greyhound 2, continues the story of Commander Ernst 'Ernie' Krause, with Hanks returning to the lead role he also scripted. The plot shifts to the Pacific theater after the events of the first film, which was set in the North Atlantic. This marks Hanks' second visit to Australia in recent years, having previously filmed Baz Luhrmann's 'Elvis' in Queensland in 2020.
