Tom Cruise has described his character in the upcoming film 'Digger' as "totally outrageous" and unlike any role he has previously encountered. The Hollywood star made these remarks at the film's world premiere in London.

Cruise stars as eccentric oil tycoon Digger Rockwell, a transformation involving prosthetics and a padded suit. He highlighted a demanding 10-minute monologue filmed in a single take as more challenging than the physical aspects of the role.

The film's plot sees Rockwell inadvertently triggering an ecological disaster that threatens nuclear war, with the character then attempting to save the planet. Director Alejandro G. Inarritu compared the filmmaking process to painting, focusing on meticulously crafted frames.

Actors Sandra Huller and Sophie Wilde praised Cruise's performance, with Huller noting how his 46 years of acting experience culminated in this role. Wilde suggested the film carries a message about art as catharsis. Rumors of the film being a musical have been dismissed by Cruise.

'Digger' begins its global cinematic release on September 30, with premieres in the United States and United Kingdom on October 2.
