The final trailer for Warner Bros.' upcoming film 'Digger,' starring Tom Cruise, was released on Thursday. Directed by four-time Oscar winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the film is a political satire centered on an oil baron named Digger Rockwell, portrayed by Cruise. Rockwell is tasked with averting an environmental catastrophe he himself caused.
The movie, which also features Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons, is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 2. Iñárritu described the film's character as a "relentless recurring obsession" that began after 'The Revenant.'
Cruise, who underwent a significant transformation for the role, expressed his long-held admiration for Iñárritu's work. "The transformation he went through was astonishing," Iñárritu remarked, with Cruise stating it took him "40 years to become this character." The film was shot using VistaVision and a 1954-designed camera, with Iñárritu collaborating again with cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki.
