21 Mar
Summary
- Tom Cruise unexpectedly arrived by helicopter on the Star Wars set.
- He took a camera and filmed an action scene himself.
- Ryan Gosling was absent on his day off during the filming.

During a recent production day for Shawn Levy's forthcoming Star Wars film, Tom Cruise made an unexpected arrival via his personal helicopter. He landed directly on set, interrupting filming, and then spontaneously took a camera to direct and shoot an action scene. Director Shawn Levy humorously suggested Cruise operate the camera during a lightsaber duel, and Cruise waded into a muddy pond to capture the footage. Unfortunately for star Ryan Gosling, he was not present to witness this unique event, having taken his single day off from filming. Gosling expressed his disappointment at missing Cruise's impromptu directorial turn. The movie, penned by Jonathan Tropper, is set five years after Star Wars: Episode IX -- The Rise of Skywalker and is scheduled to premiere on May 28, 2027.
