Todd Snider's final studio album, "My Second Rodeo," has been released posthumously by his producers Robbie Crowell and Joe Bisirri, with Aaron Lee Tasjan on guitar. The album, nearly 70 percent complete before Snider's death in November 2025 at age 59, represents his last direct artistic contribution.
"My Second Rodeo" continues Snider's "slow choogle" sound, refining the style he explored on his October 2025 release, "High, Lonesome and Then Some." The project aimed to create music replicable in a solo acoustic performance, a vision Snider detailed in emails to his producers before his passing.
The album's release was timed with "Todd Snider Day" in East Nashville. Festivities included renaming the street in front of his Purple Building studio to "Todd Snider Way" and a block party. This event highlighted the strong community Snider fostered and concluded a year of numerous tributes.
Friends and collaborators expressed pride in the finished work, noting how fully realized it felt despite Snider's absence. His brother, Mike Snider, shared a deeply emotional response to the vinyl release, feeling Todd would be immensely happy with its classic sound.
