In a surprising move, acclaimed songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. is making a comeback with his second studio album, "Shine," set to release on November 21, 2025. The album's lead single, "I Love You," is accompanied by a music video directed by Christopher Ripley and starring Dakota Johnson and Riley Keough.
Jesso, who first emerged on the music scene a decade ago with his debut album "Goon," has since become a sought-after collaborator, co-writing hits for the likes of Adele, Sia, and many others. He won the Grammy Award for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, in 2015 and is poised to potentially win it again in 2026.
Now 40 years old, Jesso has taken a six-week sabbatical to write and record "Shine" live on the piano, alone at his home. The album is said to reflect on his personal life, including his mother, his son, and a recent breakup, with contributions from artists like Danielle Haim, Eli Teplin, and Justin Vernon.
