The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin video game adaptation has re-emerged, now under the newly established Paramount Games Studio. This AAA action-adventure game, originally announced in March 2023, faced development halts but has been revived. PlatinumGames, the acclaimed Japanese developer behind Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta, is now leading the project.
The "Roninverse" continues to expand beyond the game, with the Training Day prequel comic released this past February, and a formal TMNT: The Last Ronin -- Part 3 is planned. Kevin Eastman expressed confidence that a stalled R-rated movie project based on the property will also eventually be realized.
Paramount Games Studio also provided an update on Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, described as a fast-paced 1v1 fighter set in the Avatar universe. Developed by Gameplay Group International and PM Studios, it is slated for release on July 23. This new division signifies games as a core pillar of Paramount's content strategy.
