20 Feb
Summary
- Mellencamp finds dating app age gaps between 50-55 on Hinge to be unbelievable.
- She uses Hinge only when bored, with suitors needing to send paid roses to connect.
- Mellencamp has resumed dating following her stage IV brain cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Tish Mellencamp, 44, recently shared her experiences with the dating app Hinge on a podcast episode. She described the age gap among users between 50 and 55 as "unbelievable" and expressed difficulty discerning honesty about age. Mellencamp revealed that she uses the app primarily when bored, and potential matches must send paid "roses" for her to engage.
This dating journey follows Mellencamp's significant health battle. She was diagnosed with stage IV brain cancer in early 2025 after doctors found multiple tumors near her brain. After undergoing surgeries, radiation, and immunotherapy, she announced in October 2025 that her cancer, which had also spread to her lungs, was gone. Doctors, however, indicated it would take several years to declare remission.
Mellencamp's personal life also saw a split from husband Edwin Arroyave in November 2024. While they initially filed for divorce, proceedings were put on hold as they continued to live together, especially during her cancer treatment. She briefly dated Ricci Rea from June to July 2025, during which time she openly discussed dating while undergoing cancer treatment.
